Scholarship Opportunities

As the paralegal profession has grown, the educational background requirements for the paralegal continue to grow as well. The Iowa Paralegal Association (IPA) recognizes the importance of education and, through scholarships, offers its members the opportunity to advance their careers.

Two individual scholarships every year are offered in the amount of $500 each. Applications and essays will be taken through July 1. The Board of Directors will review the applications and essays and notify the recipients of the awards at the Annual Meeting. The scholarship can be applied toward the fees/tuition/books for the recipients during the current IPA fiscal year (September 1 to August 31), the fall semester or spring semester. An individual may be awarded up to one $500.00 Paula Grady Memorial Scholarship.

The scholarship recipient will receive the cash award after submission of proof of credit earned or CP/PACE, etc., and invoice for fees/tuition/books, etc. Each scholarship will be in the total amount of invoices submitted, up to the maximum amount of $500.00.

IPA offers the NALA Scholarship every year to any Active Class of Membership IPA member who is willing to travel to and attend the NALA convention, and must agree to submit one written article in relation to your NALA Convention experience to the IPA Board of Directors within one month after your return. Essay required with submission of an application.
