Three (3) Scholarship Opportunities
As the paralegal profession has grown, the educational background requirements for the paralegal continue to grow as well. The Iowa Paralegal Association (IPA) recognizes the importance of education and, through scholarships, offers its members the opportunity to advance their careers.
PAULA GRADY MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
Two scholarships every year are in the amount of $500 each. Applications and essays will be taken through July 1. The Scholarship Committee will review the applications and essays and notify the recipient of the awards in September at the IPA Fall Seminar. The scholarship can be applied toward the fees/tuition/books for the recipient during the next IPA fiscal year (i.e., September 1 to August 31), the fall semester or spring semester.
The scholarship recipient will receive the cash award after submission of proof of successful completion of his/her continuing education (proof of credit earned or CP/PACE, etc. certificate) and invoice for fees/tuition/books, etc. The scholarships will be in the total amount of invoices submitted, up to the maximum amount of $500.00.
NALA SCHOLARSHIP
IPA offers the NALA Scholarship every year to any active, associate or student IPA member who is willing to travel to and attend the NALA convention, and must agree to submit one written article in relation to your NALA Convention experience to the IPA Seminar Committee within one month after your return.
